RUG Gets A Pre-Inspection of Rug

Vacuum &
Dusting

We perform a detailed vacuum. This is done manually on-site. Or if at our cleaning facility this is done using our dusting machine which extracts all the built-up debris that would otherwise be impossible to remove without it.

Washing / Steam Cleaning

We proceed to clean and wash your rug. You have several options here - our specialized machinery and tools can hose down your rug, it can be hand washed, or if cleaning on-site, it can be steam cleaned.

Centrifuge Pre-Dry

Following the washing, the rug is thoroughly soaked with water to remove any remaining chemicals and soap residue. To ensure that it's completely dry, a high-powered centrifuge is used if the rug is in our facility. This extracts most of the water from inside the area rug. This is done in a large machine that spins the rug at a very high speed.

Controlled Dry

Next a controlled drying process is initiated at our facility. The rug is put in a drying room equipped with special temperature and humidity controls with ideal conditions for drying. The size of the rug and the material determins the drying time. Generally it takes a few days. If cleaning your rug on-site, we can also dry it in your home with our methods.

Final Inspection

After the cleaning is finished, we conduct one last vacuuming round. This allows us to catch all those extra little bits of dust and dander that were not removed in the cleaning process. Then we do a final inspection to make sure everything that should have been doe was completed. Finally, the rug is brushed to restore its vibrant appearance.

Without the use of a professional dusting machine, it can be nearly impossible to remove all the dust and debris from a rug especailly large rugs. Even beating a rug outside will only yield temporary results. When a rug is not properly dusted, soil can build up and when that soil is exposed to water, mud forms in the fibers. This leads to the ‘dry rot’ of the rug fibres, which over time can worsen until it is beyond repair and must be thrown away.

Cleaning a rug with water can be both difficult and time consuming, and if not done properly it is likely to result in dampness and mold. Furthermore, the amount of water used for cleaning on-site rugs can make them difficult to dry completely, leading to unpleasant lingering odors and potentially the growth of mold.

We recommend only store-bought rugs and those needing spot removal cleaning for on-site cleaning. As long as they are not larger that roughly 5′x8′ or 6′x9′. All other rugs should be taken to a specialized rug cleaning facility in order to avoid damage or deterioration of the fibers.
